Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skilled in reading and writing English
  • Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone
  • Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately
  • Ability to efficiently utilize all assigned equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good typing skills with speed and accuracy for processing calls
  • Ability to understand basic computer applications
  • Minimal medical training or telecommunications experience preferred
  • At least one year's experience as EMS or public safety dispatcher preferred

Job Duties

  • Respond to customer needs accordingly
  • Understand medical terminology and apply critical listening skills to accurately process air transport requests
  • Allocate air resources properly using decision-making rules and approved protocols
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of paperwork related to position prior to shift completion
  • Perform accurate and complete data entry for the shift
  • Generate reports and verify their accuracy
  • Assist in locating incident scenes and selecting safest, fastest routes using locator aids
