The current opportunity we present is ideal for a qualified FAA Aircraft Dispatcher to join our System Operations Control team as a full-time employee. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting flight crew members with flight operational control, ensuring adherence to Federal Regulations and the company’s operational specifications. This role involves meticulous flight planning, monitoring, and communication to guarantee safety and efficiency from preflight preparation through to flight completion. Responsibilities include evaluating and responding to diverse safety, weather, and routing variables, issuing timely flight status updates, recommending alternatives for optimized flight plans, and coordinating diversions and recoveries when necessary. In this fast-paced and dynamic position, the dispatcher will work closely with multiple departments to monitor flight progress, handle scheduling logistics and communicate critical information in a clear, professional manner. This role demands strong leadership, analytical thinking, excellent interpersonal skills, and a thorough understanding of regulations and aviation technology.

Job Duties

  • support flight crew members with operational control of flights
  • preflight planning and delay management in compliance with federal regulations and company operations specifications
  • collaborate within System Operations Control to ensure flight safety
  • plan flights considering enroute winds and weather balancing safety and economy
  • determine minimum fuel requirements including alternate airports
  • provide preflight briefings with aircraft and flight status, airport conditions, and weather reports
  • monitor flight progress and issue necessary information for flight safety
  • cancel unsafe flights
  • reroute or redirect flights based on economic considerations
  • recommend flight plan alternatives
  • coordinate aircraft diversions and recoveries
  • negotiate with air traffic control for alternate routes and delay reductions
  • provide operations expertise to Maintenance Department and System Operations Control
  • monitor and process data from flight crewmembers and stations
  • perform additional duties as assigned by management
