Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid U.S. or foreign passport with no travel restrictions to United’s served destinations
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts up to 250 pounds
  • Pass functional reach assessment measuring combined vertical and horizontal reach
  • Pass pre-employment DOT drug screening and background checks including fingerprinting and vision/hearing tests
  • Pass a 10-year criminal background check
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule supporting 24/7 operations
  • Comply with uniform, hairstyling, tattoo, and piercing policies
  • No visible tattoos on head, hands, or neck
  • Tattoos must be non-offensive and fit within size restrictions
  • Proficient in operating electronic devices
  • Willingness to complete cabin water evacuation drill during training

Job Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older at time of application
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Two or more years of college preferred
  • At least one year of customer service experience in retail, hospitality, food service, teaching, aviation, or social service
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
  • Proficiency in speaking and reading Italian fluently
  • Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Valid passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity prior to training
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to meet FAA hearing and vision requirements

Job Duties

  • Ensure the highest levels of safety onboard the aircraft
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve passenger issues with empathy and professionalism
  • Adapt and respond effectively to diverse customer-facing scenarios
  • Represent United Airlines with pride and professionalism
  • Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain smooth operations during flights
