Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or older at time of application
- High school graduate or GED
- At least one year of customer service experience in service industry
- Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard in an emergency
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Ability to hear all types of sounds
- Ability to effectively communicate during high-stress situations
- Professional appearance and willingness to follow uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines
- Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months validity
- Ability to travel to all countries served by United without restrictions
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage cart
- Ability to sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
- Required to serve and/or sell food and beverages
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must successfully complete evacuation drill in water
- Pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, vision/hearing tests
- Pass 10-year background check with specific travel eligibility requirements
- Meet FAA hearing and vision requirements
Job Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older at time of application
- High school graduate or GED
- Two or more years of college preferred
- At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching, education, aviation, or social service
- Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard in an emergency
- Fluent in English
- Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months remaining
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Professional appearance and grooming standards
