Job Requirements

21 years of age or older at time of application
High school graduate or GED
Minimum one year of customer service experience
Ability to speak clearly and loudly
Fluency in English and German
Ability to hear a wide range of sounds
Strong communication skills in high-stress situations
Professional grooming and appearance standards
Visible tattoos must adhere to company policy
No decorative covers or jewelry in the mouth
Ability to use electronic devices for job tasks
Valid passport with 18 months remaining validity
Current possession of a valid U.S. or foreign passport book with applicable visas
Eligibility to travel without restrictions to countries served by United
Physical ability to perform job functions including lifting and pushing
Ability to pass functional reach assessment
Ability to sit securely in assigned jump seat
Willingness to serve and sell food and beverages professionally
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Flexibility to work various shifts including holidays and weekends

Job Qualifications

High school graduate or GED
Two or more years of college preferred
At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching, education, aviation, or social service
Ability to speak clearly, loudly enough to be heard in an emergency
Fluent in English and German
Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
Professional appearance with willingness to follow uniform and grooming standards
Proficient in operating electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops
Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months validity remaining
Ability to meet FAA hearing and vision requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions

Job Duties

Ensure the highest levels of safety during flights
Adapt and respond to different customer-facing scenarios with a positive and optimistic attitude
Engage directly with customers using outstanding interpersonal skills to resolve issues with understanding and compassion
Represent United Airlines with pride and professionalism
Fulfill flexible scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays
Work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team
Provide diligent and professional service of food and beverages including alcohol
