Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or older at time of application
- High school graduate or GED
- Minimum one year of customer service experience
- Ability to speak clearly and loudly
- Fluency in English and German
- Ability to hear a wide range of sounds
- Strong communication skills in high-stress situations
- Professional grooming and appearance standards
- Visible tattoos must adhere to company policy
- No decorative covers or jewelry in the mouth
- Ability to use electronic devices for job tasks
- Valid passport with 18 months remaining validity
- Current possession of a valid U.S. or foreign passport book with applicable visas
- Eligibility to travel without restrictions to countries served by United
- Physical ability to perform job functions including lifting and pushing
- Ability to pass functional reach assessment
- Ability to sit securely in assigned jump seat
- Willingness to serve and sell food and beverages professionally
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including holidays and weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Two or more years of college preferred
- At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching, education, aviation, or social service
- Ability to speak clearly, loudly enough to be heard in an emergency
- Fluent in English and German
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
- Professional appearance with willingness to follow uniform and grooming standards
- Proficient in operating electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops
- Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months validity remaining
- Ability to meet FAA hearing and vision requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions
Job Duties
- Ensure the highest levels of safety during flights
- Adapt and respond to different customer-facing scenarios with a positive and optimistic attitude
- Engage directly with customers using outstanding interpersonal skills to resolve issues with understanding and compassion
- Represent United Airlines with pride and professionalism
- Fulfill flexible scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team
- Provide diligent and professional service of food and beverages including alcohol
