Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legal to work in the United States (citizen, permanent resident, or authorized alien)
- Valid passport with applicable visas
- Must be willing to travel freely both in and out of the United States
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and be willing to submit to random drug/alcohol testing
- Must agree to a 10-year background history check
- Must complete and pass company inflight training
- Must reside within 2-hour drive from DTW Airport
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the airport
- Must have 20/40 correctable vision in each eye
- Minimum height of 52 inches without shoes
- Ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends
- Must be willing to work on-call basis with short notice
- Ability to relocate to assigned domicile
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist, squat, and sit for extended periods
- Must be physically able to push/pull/move beverage cart weighing approximately 250 lbs
- Ability to operate emergency equipment and respond to high noise communication
- Must use PC skills daily, including Microsoft Outlook
- Must maintain height and weight proportionate to fit in aircraft dimensions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year previous flight attendant experience preferred
- Two years direct customer service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Bilingual capabilities, particularly in French and/or Spanish, preferred
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency and stressful situations
- Ability to comply with company attendance standards
- Physical ability to meet job demands including pushing, pulling and lifting up to 40 lbs
Job Duties
- Ensuring compliance with federal regulations
- Responding and providing leadership during emergency situations and in handling disruptive customers
- Continuously monitoring all safety conditions and emergency equipment of the aircraft while on the ground and in flight
- Providing customer service to passengers by performing or assisting in the performance of all safety, passenger service, and cabin preparation duties
- Providing safety information to passengers to ensure onboard safety compliance
- Assisting passengers with carry-on items
- Providing high quality in-flight service including beverage, meal, and other customer needs
- Operating mechanical and safety equipment such as oxygen systems, evacuation slides, fire extinguishers, galley and communications equipment
- Assisting in evacuation procedures and administering first aid when necessary
