Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age at time of application
- High school graduate or GED
- Minimum one year customer service experience
- Clear and organized speaking ability
- Fluency in English
- Ability to hear all sound types and ranges
- Ability to communicate effectively during emergencies and high-stress situations
- Adherence to grooming, uniform, tattoo, and piercing policies
- Ability to operate phones, tablets, laptops
- Valid passport with 18 months remaining validity
- Ability to travel globally without restrictions
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stretch, reach, lift objects and push beverage carts
- Pass functional reach assessment
- Ability to sit with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
- Serve and sell food and beverages professionally
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Completion of DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, vision and hearing tests
- Pass FAA hearing and vision requirements
- Pass a 10-year criminal background check
- Completion of evacuation drill during training
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Two or more years of college preferred
- At least one year of customer service experience in retail, hospitality, food, teaching, aviation, or social services
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Proficiency in a second language highly desirable
- Professional appearance and grooming
- Ability to operate electronic devices proficiently
- Possess a valid passport with at least 18 months validity
Job Duties
- Ensure the highest levels of safety
- Adapt and respond to various customer-facing scenarios with optimism and positivity
- Engage directly with customers using outstanding interpersonal skills
- Represent United Airlines with pride and professionalism
- Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and travel internationally
- Serve and sell food and beverages including alcohol in a diligent and professional manner
