Job Description

Marriott International is the world's largest hotel company, renowned for its diverse portfolio of brands and a global presence that offers numerous opportunities for associates to grow and succeed in their careers. With its headquarters based in Bethesda, Maryland, Marriott International is a leader in the hospitality industry, providing exceptional guest experiences through its comprehensive range of luxury, premium, and select-service hotels. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment where the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates are valued and celebrated. Marriott actively promotes equal employment opportunities, ensuring a non-discriminatory workplace for all associates, including provisions for disability and veteran status protections in accordance with applicable laws.

The Sales Task Force Specialist role at Marriott International is a dynamic, full-time management position, offered on a temporary basis, designed to address staffing shortages, turnover, seasonal demand, and leave of absences within the sales departments of Marriott's US-based hotels. This role provides critical remote sales support to Marriott's MSB, Premium, and Luxury hotel portfolios, including MxM and Franchisees. The position operates remotely, with flexibility for candidates within commuting distance to Bethesda, MD, to work in a hybrid model, while those outside the region are considered for remote placements. The hourly pay range for this position is $23.99 to $38.43, reflecting Marriott's commitment to competitive compensation aligned with experience and qualifications.

As a Sales Task Force Specialist, you will serve a vital bench function by stepping in to manage responsibilities typically handled by sales managers and executives during periods of absence or turnover. This includes supporting group sales, new hotel openings, renovations, and repositioning efforts to ensure continuous revenue generation and customer satisfaction. The role demands a thorough understanding of the hospitality sales market, including competitor analysis, economic trends, and supply and demand dynamics, to effectively drive sales and close the best opportunities available. Utilizing strong negotiation skills and creative selling techniques, you will contribute significantly to achieving group revenue goals and enhancing Marriott's market share.

In this position, you will coordinate and execute site inspections, collaborate closely with account and selling managers, and provide expert knowledge about local destinations to enrich customer experiences. Your efforts will also facilitate pre-opening and renovation sales support, educational initiatives for sales channels, and accurate representation of the property across e-channels and websites. The Sales Task Force Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and expanding existing business relationships, identifying new group and catering business, and supporting the sales team with strategic execution and follow-through on sales promotions and campaigns.

Marriott International's commitment to its associates extends beyond the workplace, offering a comprehensive benefits package. Full-time employees enjoy medical, dental, vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) plan with stock purchase options. Additional benefits include employee discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and childcare discounts. For Washington State employees, Marriott additionally provides paid sick leave accrual and eligibility for at least nine holidays annually.

This role demands a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and at least four years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, or related fields, or a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related areas with at least two years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include a university degree, lodging sales experience, sales management skills, multi-brand exposure, and familiarity with Marriott's proprietary sales systems such as SFAWeb and CI/TY. If you are passionate about sales, hospitality, and providing excellent customer service, and eager to contribute to a global leader in the hotel industry, this Sales Task Force Specialist role at Marriott International offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity to advance your career remotely with support and growth potential.
