Horizon Air prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service and creating seamless travel experiences for its passengers. The company operates out of various airport hubs with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and employee development, making it a respected employer in the aviation industry. Horizon Air is known for its commitment to employee well-being, providing competitive compensation and benefits designed to support a healthy work-life balance. This particular opportunity is based at their Portland, OR airport location, and the position is offered as a full-time regular role with a starting rate of $18.10 per hour. The employment is under union representation, which affirms the company’s dedication to fair labor practices and collaboration between employees and management.
The role of Fleet Service Agent at Horizon Air is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of aircraft, ensuring a safe and comfortable travel environment for passengers. This position encompasses thorough cleaning responsibilities, including servicing aircraft interiors such as cabins, seatback pockets, galleys, lavatories, as well as performing both wet and dry washing of aircraft exteriors. Fleet Service Agents also contribute to operational efficiency by updating status boards and maintaining accurate records of work performed. A key aspect of this role is conducting TSA mandated aircraft security checks to uphold safety standards and compliance. This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently, and to work for extended periods while standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. The position also involves working at heights and managing flexible schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays. Horizon Air seeks candidates who can demonstrate diplomacy, teamwork skills, and the ability to multitask in fast-paced environments. Successful employees embrace the company’s core values of owning safety, doing the right thing, showing care and kindness, and delivering reliable performance. As a team member, you will be part of a supportive community that values diversity and inclusion and strives to provide each guest with a welcoming and memorable airport experience. Horizon Air offers extensive total rewards including travel privileges, health benefits, a 401k match program, bonus plans, and paid time off. Moreover, employees must meet strict regulatory requirements such as obtaining and maintaining airport security clearance, essential to maintaining compliance with government and Department of Transportation regulations. This comprehensive role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in the aviation sector with a company dedicated to employee growth, safety, and community engagement.
