Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 2-5 years of experience in intermodal or container transportation
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Experience working with owner-operator contractors
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with computerized dispatch systems (TMS)
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and supervise a fleet of owner-operators
  • Monitor and ensure delivery performance, fleet profitability, and regulatory compliance
  • Assign equipment as needed
  • Maximize efficiency and profitability of every delivery
  • Oversee fair and equitable distribution of loads among contractors
  • Plan and execute delivery orders for efficient load drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Accept and decline loads in coordination with the Customer Success team
  • Negotiate rates with contractors outside of the ICOA
  • Develop lasting relationships with contractors to improve performance and retention
  • Resolve disputes involving customers, terminals, or rail contractors
  • Monitor contractor compliance with DOT regulations, substance policies, hours of service, and vehicle compliance
  • Coordinate required training for contractors
