Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years experience in logistics, fleet management, or related fields
- Experience managing staff and third-party vendor relationships
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems
- Ability to develop and implement work programs and schedules
- Proficiency with budgeting and financial reporting
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to enforce safety standards and disciplinary actions
- Valid driver’s license
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, public administration, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or inventory control
- Strong leadership and staff management skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in budget preparation and financial monitoring
- Familiarity with safety regulations and enforcement practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal departments
Job Duties
- Manages performance of delivery services and stock room staff responsible for taking and maintaining inventories of large stocks of materials, supplies, and equipment
- Manages all aspects of the SFPL vehicle fleet, including but not limited to regular maintenance, the processing of repair requests, and the purchasing of new vehicles and equipment
- Maintains related stock forms, purchase order and records
- Addresses problems requiring analyses of issues related to delivery services and stock room that may result in deviations from routine processes, new technology and/or additional resources
- Establishes work programs, methods, procedures, and schedules
- Directs replenishment and purchasing of needed equipment, supplies and materials, including management of the Library’s Stockroom, supplies, and Mailroom
- Enforces established safety regulations and procedures, and employee disciplinary measures (or contract enforcement measures)
- Preparing annual budget estimates
- Establishes working relationships with others (e.g., vendors) at similar levels within the organization and coordinate budget preparation, monitoring of expenditures and financial reporting for the assigned section
- Communicates in orally and in writing with subordinate staff and other department personnel necessary to ensure delivery services and stock room activities run effectively
