Job Description
Camping World is a leading outdoor and recreational vehicle (RV) retailer known for its comprehensive range of products and services tailored to the camping and outdoor lifestyle. Established as a major player in the RV industry, Camping World operates numerous locations across the United States, providing everything from RV sales and service to parts and accessories. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a community of outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the freedom and adventure that RV living offers. At its core, Camping World is committed to enhancing the outdoor experience through high-quality products, knowledgeable staff, and a supportive environment for customers and employees alike.
The Fixed Operations Director role at Camping World represents a critical leadership position within the company’s service centers. This full-time role involves managing the fixed operations team, which includes overseeing various departments such as service, parts, and warranty administration. As the Fixed Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that customers receive the highest level of service satisfaction while also driving the profitability of the service center. This position requires a strategic leader who can support and manage service managers, maintain a strong customer focus, and optimize operational performance through effective team building and resource management.
In your capacity as the Fixed Operations Director, you will lead efforts to enhance employee development and retention by fostering a positive workplace culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and community engagement. Managing profitability will involve close attention to sales growth, gross profit, P&L (profit and loss) management, and controlling labor costs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing a high-volume service center, preferably within the RV, automotive, marine, or power sports industries. Knowledge of RV systems is a valuable asset, though not mandatory.
This position demands strong analytical skills, particularly in reading and interpreting financial reports, as well as impressive communication abilities to maintain productive relationships with external vendors and internal team members. Proficiency with dealership software systems like ADP, IDS, Reynolds & Reynolds, and Microsoft Office applications is highly preferred. A valid driver’s license and the physical ability to handle the demanding work environment, including lifting and exposure to variable weather and hazards, are also required.
Compensation for the Fixed Operations Director role ranges approximately from $95,000 to $125,000 annually, inclusive of base pay and potential variable earnings. Beyond competitive pay, Camping World offers a comprehensive benefits package. This includes paid time off, 401(k) plans, an employee assistance program, Good Sam Roadside Assistance, employee discounts, paid parental leave pending eligibility, tuition reimbursement, along with medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees. Part-time associates have access to dental and vision coverage. This compensation and benefits structure underscores Camping World’s commitment to attracting and retaining top talent dedicated to delivering outstanding customer experiences and operational excellence.
By joining Camping World as the Fixed Operations Director, you become part of a dynamic company that supports growth and innovation within the recreational vehicle industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a service team in a fast-paced, rewarding environment where customer satisfaction and business performance are the top priorities. Camping World values diversity and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, age, disability, veteran or uniformed service status, genetic information, or other protected characteristics. This position promises a challenging yet rewarding career path for professionals eager to make a significant impact in the outdoor recreation and vehicle service sector.
