The Fitness Club Receptionist role at Planet Fitness plays a pivotal part in this mission by serving as the first point of contact for members, guests, and prospective members. This role demands a friendly, approachable personality, coupled with strong communication skills to ensure each visitor receives an outstanding "Judgement Free" experience from the moment they step inside the club. Receptionists are responsible for welcoming members and guests warmly, assisting with check-ins, and answering inquiries both in person and via phone. Beyond these initial interactions, receptionists also support the club's operations by managing membership-related activities including new sign-ups, billing updates, cancellations, and transfers. They actively promote the Judgement Free Zone ethos by engaging with members on the floor and supporting their fitness goals while ensuring adherence to club policies.
In addition to administrative duties, Fitness Club Receptionists contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility. This involves routine cleaning and sanitizing of gym equipment, spa amenities, and shared areas, as well as ensuring restrooms are well-stocked and hygienic. Conducting regular walkthroughs of the club helps receptionists immediately identify and address any maintenance concerns or policy breaches, with necessary issues reported promptly to management. The position also involves sales responsibilities such as processing retail transactions and participating in outreach activities like providing tours to prospective members, helping them find the best membership options.

Job Requirements
- 6-12 months of customer service experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Willingness to complete CPR/AED certification (training provided by Planet Fitness)
- Basic computer skills and proficiency

Job Duties

- Clean and sanitize gym equipment, Black Card spa amenities, and shared areas according to established schedules
- Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, sanitized, and free of clutter
- Perform walkthroughs of the facility to promptly address safety, cleanliness, and policy concerns
- Report facility or maintenance issues such as broken equipment, leaks, or dispenser problems
