The role of Fitness Club Receptionist at Planet Fitness is vital in delivering the brand's promise of a judgment-free, supportive fitness experience. This position serves as the first point of contact for members, guests, and prospective members, ensuring an exceptional interaction from the moment they enter the club. As a Fitness Club Receptionist, you will be responsible for welcoming visitors warmly, answering inquiries, and promoting the Judgement Free Zone philosophy by engaging with members and supporting their fitness journeys. Additionally, you will manage key membership functions such as new sign-ups, billing updates, cancellations, and transfers, all while upholding club policies and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized facility.

This position blends customer service with operational duties including conducting facility walkthroughs to address safety and cleanliness issues, performing outreach calls to prospective members, and facilitating retail sales that contribute toward achieving sales goals. The Fitness Club Receptionist also plays an important role in ensuring the upkeep of gym equipment, spa amenities, and restrooms, thereby supporting a hygienic environment for all members. The role is designed for individuals who bring a friendly and positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. Job Requirements

  • 6-12 months of customer service experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Willingness to complete CPR/AED Certification training provided by Planet Fitness
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency

Job Duties

  • Welcome members and guests as they enter and exit assisting with any questions during check-in
  • Promote the Judgement Free Zone by engaging with members on the floor offering assistance and supporting their fitness goals while upholding club policies
  • Address member issues promptly and escalate to management when necessary
  • Answer phone calls courteously and assist callers with questions
  • Manage membership functions such as new sign-ups billing updates cancellations collections and transfers
  • Conduct outreach calls and provide tours to prospective members helping them find the right membership option
  • Process retail sales accurately and contribute toward sales goals
  • Clean and sanitize gym equipment Black Card spa amenities and shared areas according to established schedules
  • Ensure restrooms are clean stocked sanitized and free of clutter
  • Perform walkthroughs of the facility to promptly address safety cleanliness and policy concerns
  • Report facility or maintenance issues such as broken equipment leaks or dispenser problems
