The Fitness Club Receptionist plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for members and guests. This role is responsible for creating an exceptional experience for every visitor, reflecting the welcoming and judgement-free spirit of Planet Fitness. Receptionists handle a variety of customer service and administrative tasks, promoting the brand’s values and responding to member needs with attentiveness and professionalism. This position involves interacting directly with club members and potential members through greetings, answering questions, managing membership functions, and supporting fitness goals. The receptionist ensures that the club environment remains clean, safe, and aligned with company policies, thus safeguarding the high standards Planet Fitness maintains across its network of gyms.
Additionally, this role includes outreach activities such as making calls for member engagement and conducting tours for prospective members. Receptionists contribute to sales efforts by processing retail transactions and helping members find suitable membership options. They are responsible for maintaining an organized and sanitary facility by cleaning equipment, spa amenities, restrooms, and shared spaces. Performing walkthroughs to identify and address any safety or maintenance issues is part of their daily duties, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all. The position requires a friendly, positive attitude combined with strong communication and empathy skills. Training and certification in CPR/AED are supported by Planet Fitness to help maintain a safe environment. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Willingness to complete CPR/AED Certification training provided by Planet Fitness
- Basic computer skills and proficiency
- 6-12 months of customer service experience preferred

Job Duties
- Welcome members and guests as they enter and exit, assisting with any questions during check-in
- Promote the Judgement Free Zone® by engaging with members on the floor, offering assistance, and supporting their fitness goals while upholding club policies
- Address member issues promptly and escalate to management when necessary
- Answer phone calls courteously and assist callers with questions
- Manage membership functions such as new sign-ups, billing updates, cancellations, collections, and transfers
- Conduct outreach calls and provide tours to prospective members, helping them find the right membership option
- Process retail sales accurately and contribute toward sales goals
- Clean and sanitize gym equipment, Black Card spa amenities, and shared areas according to established schedules
- Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, sanitized, and free of clutter
- Perform walkthroughs of the facility to promptly address safety, cleanliness, and policy concerns
- Report facility or maintenance issues such as broken equipment, leaks, or dispenser problems
