Job Description
The hiring establishment for this position is an established hospitality group known for its commitment to quality and excellence in the restaurant industry. This group oversees multiple venues, specializing in upscale dining experiences designed to offer guests memorable and polished service. Their portfolio includes a variety of fine dining restaurants that emphasize sophistication, guest satisfaction, and a vibrant team culture. Located in the western suburbs of Chicago, this particular role is within an upscale steakhouse-style restaurant that prides itself on elevated hospitality and premium wine and spirits offerings. This location attracts discerning diners who expect exceptional service and a warm, professional atmosphere. The group values a collaborative leadership style and invests in the professional development of its team members, ensuring every employee has the opportunity to grow and succeed within the industry.
The role available is for a Fine Dining Restaurant Manager, a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving the dining room operations with a hands-on approach. This is a salaried professional opportunity offering between $55,000 and $65,000 annually, suitable for an experienced manager who thrives in a dynamic, high-end restaurant environment. The candidate will serve as a floor-driven leader who not only manages the restaurant's daily activities but also directly engages with guests and staff to cultivate an atmosphere of polished hospitality and exceptional service. A significant aspect of the role includes the managerial oversight of front-of-house team members, ensuring consistent delivery of elevated service standards through real-time coaching and leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess at least three years of leadership experience in a fine dining or full-service upscale restaurant. A deep understanding of wine, spirits, and cocktails is essential, as well as the ability to maintain an inviting and professional dining environment that guests remember. Responsibilities extend to managing labor, beverage cost, and inventory while ensuring all operational standards for sanitation and compliance are met. Flexibility in schedule, including availability nights, weekends, and holidays, is a must. Additionally, the position requires BASSET certification or the ability to obtain and maintain such certification. The manager will also play a supporting role in private events and special guest engagements such as wine dinners and tastings, which are instrumental in keeping the restaurant vibrant and connected to its patrons.
This role offers a unique chance for a motivated leader to contribute to a well-established upscale dining venue within a respected hospitality group that encourages career advancement and professional enrichment. With strong benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a company match, along with paid time off and hospitality perks, this position is positioned as an enticing opportunity for seasoned professionals looking to elevate their career in fine dining management.
