The available role is for a skilled Machine Operator on the day shift, offering a competitive pay rate initially starting at around $24.97, with the potential to earn up to $28.41 based on experience and tenure. The Machine Operator is a vital position within the production team responsible for overseeing machinery and processes related to cottage cheese and sour cream manufacturing. Responsibilities include starting and inspecting equipment, monitoring product quality and temperatures, making minor repairs, and maintaining sanitary conditions following strict food safety protocols. The operator plays a key role in ensuring the product meets all packaging specifications, including weight and labeling requirements. This position actively supports inventory control by managing lot numbers and batch records and is charged with maintaining clean, organized warehouses following First In - First Out (FIFO) inventory principles. Machine Operators also perform data entry tasks using electronic management record systems and spreadsheets to document production parameters accurately.

Ideal candidates for this role will be meticulous, with a strong commitment to workplace safety, food safety compliance, and operational efficiency. Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment, especially with dairy products, is highly advantageous but not always mandatory. Training will be provided on the use of specialized equipment, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and conducting Clean-In-Place (CIP) operations. Job Duties

  • Inspect and sanitize machine at the start of shift
  • Taste and check temperature of product
  • Start machine and observe operation to detect malfunctions
  • Assist in cooking cottage cheese
  • Set sour cream
  • Stop machine and report malfunction to supervisor
  • Keep a record of lot numbers of cartons, lids, buckets and ingredients
  • Make minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product containers
  • Inspect filled container and weight to ensure product packaging meets specifications
  • Feed product to conveyors, hoppers or other feeding devices and unload packaged product
  • Replenish packaging supplies such as plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, ink, buckets, or labels
  • Stage daily production ingredients
  • Place supplies on spindles or other feeding devices
  • Position and hold container in machine
  • Rinse, disassemble, wash, sanitize and reassemble machines, vats and clean work area
  • Stir or mix product with a shovel
  • Keep warehouses organized and clean
  • Ensure proper product rotation following First In - First Out rules
  • Dispense and work with chemicals safely
  • Maintain proper code dates and weights for product
  • Perform data entry in EMRS, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
