Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years EMS experience preferred
- Florida paramedic certification in good standing
- Current NREMT certification if required
- CPR certification including BLS, ACLS, PCC/PALS
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Successful background check
- Drug screening
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ventilator certification every three years
- Written and practical exam completion
- FEMA IS certifications
- Ability to lift up to 180 pounds frequently and 300 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work in inclement weather and stressful environments
- Availability for irregular working hours
- Ability to attend meetings outside normal hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the EMS field preferred
- State specific paramedic license in good standing/current NREMT certification if required by state
- Current CPR certifications: BLS, ACLS, PCC/PALS
- Valid state specific driver’s license
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
- Strong people skills and ability to collaborate within a team
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ventilator certified every three years
- Successful completion of written and practical exam
- FEMA IS certifications: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
- Previous experience as paramedic or similar medical role preferred
- Additional certifications or training in AMLS, PHTLS, and/or ATLS preferred
- Technology proficiency
Job Duties
- Function as a paramedic conducting patient care from an ambulance
- Supervise day-to-day field operation employees in absence of senior management
- Ensure field employees have required equipment to perform duties
- Serve as liaison for field staff to other departments such as Training, CQI, Payroll, HR, Billing, Communication
- Prepare reports involving mechanical breakdowns, accident investigations, exposures, daily shift activities, and incidents
- Ensure adherence to AmeriPro EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, and patient care protocols
- Assist in evaluating employee performance, maintain attendance records, ensure professionalism
- Monitor overall deployment and efficiency of established system, make decisions on IFT, Mutual Aid, out of town trips in absence of senior management
- Manage short term scheduling needs and ensure paperwork completion
- Respond to scenes with crews, assume command during mass casualty incidents until relieved by senior management
- Provide guidance and training for new employees and students
- Attend regular planning meetings
- Perform safe patient lifting, transfer, and maneuvering
- Other duties as assigned
