Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a prominent U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with hardgoods and related products. It ranks as one of the largest suppliers of safety products and ammonia products and process chemicals within the United States. The company operates with a spirited workforce of approximately 18,000 associates who collectively foster a culture centered on safety, customer success, sustainability, and continuous innovation. As part of the Air Liquide group, Airgas benefits from a global presence operating in 60 countries with around 66,500 employees, serving over 4 million customers and patients worldwide.

Joining Airgas means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive environment where employees are valued, respected, and empowered to share ideas, take initiative, and make impactful decisions. The company supports and embraces diversity as a key driver of innovation and excellence. At Airgas, employees can expect a welcoming workplace culture that emphasizes safety and sustainability in product creation and delivery. This is an environment that nurtures individual potential and offers opportunities for professional growth and career development in a dynamic and respectful setting.

The Field Service Technician role based in Milwaukee, WI, located in a retail shop setting, is critical to Airgas's operational and service excellence, particularly relating to cryogenic equipment. This position primarily involves installing, maintaining, and servicing nitrogen on-site generation plants and bulk medical or industrial gas systems. The technician ensures installations and services comply with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local codes as well as Airgas policies.

This role requires skillful performance of multiple technical duties including: installing cryogenic bulk installations at both Airgas facilities and customer locations; repairing pressure reduction equipment; troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems associated with nitrogen generation and cryogenic installations; and installing signage to highlight hazards and operational guides. The technician will also conduct site surveys to verify compliance, maintain security fencing around installations, and perform preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule. Annual inspections of bulk installation sites are part of the responsibilities, along with maintaining a stock of essential repair parts.

Working as a Field Service Technician at Airgas means having a hands-on role that demands technical expertise, safety consciousness, and effective communication to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The position involves local travel and requires a valid driver’s license and availability to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day. It is an opportunity to apply one's technical skills in a challenging but rewarding environment while contributing to the company's commitment to safe, sustainable industrial gas services.

Airgas offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability coverage, life insurance, employee assistance programs, 401k with company match, tuition reimbursement, and generous paid time off policies. This ensures that technicians not only have the resources to perform well but also the support for their personal well-being and growth.
