The Manager Field Operations position at United Site Services is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing all operational functions within a branch. This role demands a dynamic leader who possesses a strong understanding of operational efficiencies and customer service excellence. The Manager Field Ops oversees multiple teams including dispatchers, routers, service technicians, delivery drivers, yard personnel, fence crews, and shop staff. Ensuring accurate and complete paperwork such as manifests, routing tickets, and driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) is a fundamental responsibility. Monitoring service levels and delivery performance is essential to maximizing efficiency and improving operational practices. The role requires strong interdepartmental collaboration, working closely with other departments and branch Operations Managers to address customer service issues and coordinate asset transfers effectively.
Staffing management is a key focus, with the Manager Field Ops responsible for maintaining optimal staff levels to meet customer and branch needs. Analyzing operational metrics such as labor, overtime, fuel consumption, and routing efficiency forms part of the regular reporting duties. The manager partners with the Regional Vice President to develop and implement standard operating procedures and efficiency improvements. Safety is a critical aspect of the role, overseeing the company’s safety program at the branch and working with Safety and HR teams to coordinate necessary training. The Manager Field Ops also manages fleet DOT compliance, including logbook maintenance and timekeeping approvals for payroll processing. Additionally, employee development including conducting performance reviews and fostering a positive, safe work environment are vital to the position. The role may also require the operation of company vehicles and trailer pulling as part of day-to-day responsibilities. Job Requirements
- Valid driver license (class C)
- minimum 5 years of proven leadership experience leading a diverse team to accomplish results
- minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training
- minimum 2 year/associates degree from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- bilingual - Spanish & English
- experience with multi-stop routing system and dispatch procedures
- computer knowledge (Navision, Microsoft Office and routing/logistics software)
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- knowledge of financial statements

Job Duties
- Direct oversight of dispatcher/routers, service technicians, pick up & delivery drivers, yard personnel, fence crew(s), and shop
- review all paperwork including manifests, routing tickets, DVIRs, etc. for completion and accuracy
- monitor all service levels and deliveries to ensure best efficiencies
- recommend measures to improve operational practices and quality of customer care
- work directly with other departments to ensure excellent/positive communication within the region
- work with various departments to resolve customer service & delivery issues
- work with Operations Managers at other branches to coordinate asset transfers
- maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs
- analyze and report on operational activities, e.g., service levels, routing efficiency, labor & overtime, and fuel
- work with the Regional Vice President to develop and implement standard practices and efficiency recommendations
- responsible for fleet DOT administration including, log books & record maintenance
- review and approve e-time punches prior to submitting for payroll processing
- review and approve time off request forms and schedule time off based on operational necessity
- administer the companys safety program at the branch
- work with Safety & HR departments to safety coordinate training, where necessary
- responsible for employee development & conducting periodic performance reviews
- create and maintain a positive, safe, and effective work environment
- operate a variety of company vehicles
- pull trailers with company vehicles
- perform other duties as assigned
