The Wireline Team in Victoria, Texas, is a pivotal part of Baker Hughes' operations, acting as the primary repair hub for global wireline technologies. This team is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of sophisticated equipment that forms the backbone of well construction and production processes. As a Field Operator, you will play a crucial role in preparing for jobs by conducting thorough tool maintenance and performing pre-job and post-job checkouts. You will be tasked with rigging up and rigging down equipment at various well sites, servicing mechanical devices, and assembling critical logging cable heads. Additionally, you will manage perforating cable heads and perform maintenance to guarantee the optimal functionality of the tools. Accurate record-keeping is essential, as you will maintain well site and Department of Transportation (DOT) records in accordance with district management requirements. Communication and customer relations are fundamental aspects of the role, as you will represent Baker Hughes on-site and foster positive interactions with customers.
The role demands the ability to follow detailed instructions related to routine work and specific well site activities, as well as the safe operation of company vehicles in compliance with all regulations. Flexibility is key, as you will be expected to work on-call 24/7 and spend extended periods at well sites. The company supports a work schedule of 14 days on and 7 days off, recognizing the importance of work-life balance. Job Requirements

- strong mechanical aptitude
- valid Class A or B CDL preferred or able to obtain one in 6 months
- ability to work on-call 24x7 and flexibility to work at well sites for extended periods
- clean driving record and ability to pass a Federal background check
- must be 21 years of age or older to obtain ATF explosives certification
- valid and unexpired Drivers License

Job Duties
- Preparing for jobs and performing tool maintenance
- rigging-up and rigging-down equipment at the well site
- servicing mechanical devices and building logging cable heads
- perforating cable heads and maintenance on the tools
- maintaining well site/DOT records and communications as required by District Manager
- completing job-related paperwork and other records for self and assigned crew
- promoting and maintaining good customer relations
- receiving instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on well site activity
- driving company vehicles in a safe manner while observing Company and government regulations
