Job Description
Circle K is a leading convenience store chain renowned for its commitment to quality, customer service, and food safety standards. With a global presence and a robust network of stores, Circle K continually strives to enhance the in-store experience for customers by providing a wide range of food service options, innovative products, and reliable service. Recognized for its dedication to employee training and operational excellence, Circle K invests significantly in its team members to ensure that each store maintains optimal food safety and quality assurance practices according to regulatory guidelines such as FSQA and HACCP.
The role being offered is a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor position, a critical part of Circle K's operational team focused on maintaining and upgrading foodservice standards across the store network. This position is primarily responsible for supervising the training and education of store teams on current and new product offerings, with a strong emphasis on food safety and quality assurance compliance. The supervisor will lead new store start-ups and remodels, ensuring that all foodservice equipment and processes meet the set standards. This hands-on role involves real-time issue resolution during store visits, conducting troubleshooting seminars, and acting as a central contact point for foodservice-related inquiries.
In this role, the supervisor will collaborate with various stakeholders including Category Managers, business unit leadership, store leadership, foodservice vendors, and merchant experts to develop training materials that align with company policies and further the growth of the foodservice category. Additionally, the role requires coaching under-performing stores, partnering closely with District Managers to address specific market needs, and overseeing new foodservice projects tied to business unit initiatives. Maintaining accurate training session and visit records is vital to this position, as is facilitating training sessions aimed at closing identified gaps and fostering a cooperative learning environment.
The supervisor will also be tasked with evaluating the cleanliness, stocking, and operational compliance of food preparation and storage areas, including various pieces of equipment such as warmers, roller grills, microwaves, and beverage machines. This includes monitoring temperature and timing according to Circle K standards and addressing any non-compliance issues promptly. The supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that store health requirements are met and that critical violations are handled immediately. Detailed reporting on store conditions, overall scoring, and communication of findings to management staff are key components of the job along with preventive maintenance tasks and calibration of dispensing machines. With a focus on teamwork, this position supports other internal departments and store staff, contributing to the overall success of Circle K's foodservice operations.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are passionate about food safety, enjoy helping others improve operational practices, and are skilled in training and coaching within a retail or convenience store environment. Circle K values diversity and equal opportunity, offering reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities and emphasizing a supportive work environment. Employment terms include compliance with federal and local regulations such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and participation in work eligibility verification programs.
