Currently, Holgate Center is seeking full-time Cooks who are dedicated and enthusiastic to join their stellar team. Working Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM, this role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $22.00 depending on experience. The Cook will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and the broader food services team to prepare nutritious, appealing, and high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs of the residents. The position involves not just cooking but ensuring the kitchen meets all cleanliness and safety standards, adhering strictly to established food service policies, and assisting with administrative tasks related to food services.

This role is ideal for individuals who are motivated by teamwork yet capable of working independently. Job Duties

  • Review menus prior to food preparation and prepare meals
  • work with the Executive Chef to ensure all team members perform their assigned duties during each shift
  • maintain cleanliness and readiness of kitchen and dietary areas for next shift or day
  • follow food procedures and safety standards in accordance with established policies
  • complete administrative requirements such as forms and reports and submit to the Dietitian or Director of Food Services
  • assist in the food service production line to assure timely meal preparation
  • process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services
  • prepare meals according to planned menus
  • prepare and serve appetizing and palatable meals
  • assist in serving meals as necessary on a timely basis
  • adhere to standardized portion control procedures
  • prepare food using standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and special diet orders
  • ensure appropriate utensils and equipment are provided with resident meal trays
  • prepare bedtime snacks
  • serve substitute foods to residents who refuse meals served
  • assist and direct daily cleaning duties per established policies and procedures
  • assist in food preparation for special events
  • maintain stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment at adequate levels
  • ensure regular and predictable attendance
