The Fast Food Cook at Great Wolf is an essential role within the fast-paced quick service dining operations. This entry-level position involves preparing food items that meet the company’s high standards of quality and safety in order to exceed guest satisfaction. Fast Food Cooks work closely with the culinary team, following recipe guidelines and ensuring compliance with food handling and sanitation regulations. This position offers full-time, part-time, and flexible scheduling options, making it accessible to individuals sixteen years of age or older who desire to start or advance their careers in hospitality and food service. Compensation includes a base pay of $15.50 per hour plus the possibility of earning tips, which vary by shift and location and have recently averaged $2 to $4 per hour.

As a Fast Food Cook, you will perform a variety of food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring ingredients, cooking to recipe specifications, and ensuring food orders are completed accurately and timely. The role also involves maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment by adhering to sanitation standards and completing necessary cleaning and maintenance tasks. In addition to hands-on food preparation, you will assist with stocking and inventory management, equipment upkeep, and providing support to kitchen leadership as needed.   • ability to learn correct and safe food preparation and demonstrated ability to understand sanitation related issues and precautions necessary to ensure a clean food preparation environment
  • must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • possess the ability to work with Point of Sale system and Kitchen Display System
  • must be able to obtain local or state food handling permits and serv safe food handling certification as required
  • successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen

Job Duties

  • Maintain and follow all department operating procedures
  • ensure completion of daily temperature logs, daily cleaning logs, line check sheets and food waste sheets
  • ensure compliance with all food-handling and sanitation regulations
  • prepare all food items per recipe guidelines, tasting and adjusting for flavor with assistance of chef
  • execute food orders according to guest preference in a timely manner while working on multiple orders at once
  • provide food preparation assistance by washing, peeling, cutting and preparing a variety of ingredients
  • control recipes by weighing and measuring designated ingredients
  • provide food and utensils for chef by carrying pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator
  • support in stocking food and supply inventory, requisitioning supplies and food
  • verify receipt
  • maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by cleaning work areas, food storage areas, equipment, and utensils
  • segregate and remove garbage
  • steam-clean or hose garbage containers
  • follow sanitation standards and procedures
  • comply with legal regulations
  • maintain correct cleaning schedules on all equipment
  • keep equipment operating by following operating instructions
