Job Description
Maverick Golf and Ranch Club is a premier private golf and residential community located just outside of Fort Worth, Texas. Known for its unique blend of classic Western charm and modern luxury, Maverick offers a truly exceptional experience set across 1,100 acres of rolling hills, pastoral farmland, and nearly a mile of Dutch Branch Creek. The club features three distinct golf experiences designed by renowned golf architect Tom Fazio: an 18-hole championship course, a 12-hole executive course, and a 9-hole par 3 course. The community embraces a laid-back Texas feel with an emphasis on environmental sustainability, health, and wellness, offering members a world-class lifestyle that balances urban sophistication with cowboy culture. Maverick is part of the Discovery Land Company portfolio, a leading U.S.-based real estate developer and operator of private residential club communities and resorts worldwide. Discovery Land Company is committed to creating one-of-a-kind environments that inspire individuals and families to grow, learn, and play in some of the most beautiful locations on earth.
The Farm Manager role at Maverick Golf and Ranch Club is a vital position within the Club Operations Department. This full-time role is centered around managing the farm’s daily operations, focusing on the cultivation of local fruits, vegetables, and flowers using organic and regenerative agricultural practices. The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of farm produce—from seeding and planting to growing and harvesting. In addition, the role involves managing the overall maintenance and landscaping within the farm perimeter, including pasture management and care of farm animals. Key responsibilities also include scheduling equipment repairs, enhancing safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and inviting farm environment.
Collaboration is essential in this role, as the Farm Manager will work closely with culinary and food and beverage teams to align harvesting schedules and contribute to farm-to-table initiatives including farm dinners and special events. The role demands strong leadership abilities to hire, train, and supervise farm staff, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and fostering a productive and motivated team. Furthermore, the Farm Manager will engage with members and guests by educating them about farm offerings, conducting tours, and facilitating member activities, enhancing the overall Discovery Land Company experience.
This position requires a motivated individual passionate about sustainability and agricultural innovation, able to operate and maintain farm machinery, and proficient in managing greenhouse and hydroponic systems. A strong background in farm management, along with mechanical skills for equipment upkeep, is necessary to succeed in this role. The Farm Manager should be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet the demands of the business. Overall, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in sustaining a historic ranch environment while contributing to an unparalleled member experience at one of Texas’s most prestigious golf and residential communities.
