Job Description

The Private Events Manager position is available at a premier resort known for its exceptional service in hospitality and luxury accommodations. This resort features a vibrant collection of restaurants and bars that cater to diverse clientele including guests, club members, and corporate organizations. The Private Events Manager plays a pivotal role in the resort's food and beverage operations by overseeing the outreach, selling, booking, and meticulous planning of events held within its dining venues. The primary goal of this role is to foster client relationships, secure bookings, and ensure each function runs smoothly and meets the resort's high standards. The professional in this role will be responsible for selling group dining and special events, working closely with restaurant leadership to maintain and develop social and corporate accounts. By doing so, the Private Events Manager helps maximize the profit margin of the resort through efficient space utilization and by securing repeat business. The manager will handle inquiries with professionalism and detail, providing clients with proposals and finalizing agreements that outline the scope and specifics of their events.

This position requires an individual comfortable with frequent client interaction—from initial meetings to oversee actual event execution—ensuring all aspects of the functions are managed seamlessly. Strong internal collaboration is needed as well, coordinating with departments such as Food and Beverage Outlets, Culinary, Sales and Marketing, Catering, Convention, AV Operations, Retail, Support Departments, and Front Office Operations. Externally, the Private Events Manager will engage with club members, meeting planners, vendors, and production companies to sustain a wide network of contacts that contribute to the success of each event.

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a working knowledge of hospitality and food and beverage sales. A bachelor's degree in hotel or hospitality management is preferred, although candidates with degrees in other fields coupled with relevant hospitality experience will be considered. Experience in banquet, catering, convention, or food and beverage operations is essential, alongside proficiency with computer systems for data analysis and communications.

Physical demands include the ability to navigate multiple functions simultaneously, involving standing, walking, bending, and the capability to lift up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand primary workplace languages

  • Hotel or hospitality degree at bachelor’s level or relevant experience

  • Physical ability to maneuver between concurrent functions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop or bend for eight hours
