Job Description
PENN Entertainment is a leading provider of integrated entertainment, sports content, and casino gaming experiences. With a rich presence across 43 destinations throughout North America, PENN Entertainment also has a strong online presence through theScore Bet Sportsbook and Casino. As a trailblazer in the entertainment industry, PENN Entertainment is more than just a purveyor of fun; it is a company deeply committed to its core values of diversity, sustainability, and community engagement. The company fosters a culture where passion for the guest experience is paramount, teamwork thrives, and career growth is encouraged and supported. Known for its dynamic and fast-paced work environment, especially in their casinos and sports bars, PENN Entertainment provides a vibrant atmosphere where employees get to participate in an exhilarating industry centered around fun and customer satisfaction.
The role available is for an experienced restaurant manager who will take on operational leadership in a busy, high-volume sports bar environment within a casino setting. This position demands a leader who can oversee daily restaurant operations efficiently and ensure that guests receive high-quality service during all operating hours, including peak periods, special events, and game days. The manager will be instrumental in championing a guest-first culture by proactively addressing guest needs and service recovery issues, thereby elevating the overall guest experience.
This role includes collaborating with various departments such as culinary, beverage, marketing, and casino partners to guarantee smooth and seamless operations. The candidate will also serve as the Manager on Duty and lead floor operations when necessary. Given the unionized nature of the work environment, the restaurant manager will need to lead and develop a diverse team of union-represented employees with fairness and respect, ensuring adherence to workplace policies and collective bargaining agreements. Scheduling and staffing management are integral parts of the job, requiring the ability to align labor schedules with business needs and contractual obligations while maintaining productivity and controlling labor costs.
Financial management responsibilities include overseeing food and beverage costs, managing inventory controls such as ordering and storage, and ensuring compliance with cash handling and POS transactions. The candidate must also ensure full compliance with responsible alcohol service laws, food safety standards, health codes, and gaming regulations while promoting a safe working environment.
This full-time position offers a starting salary in the range of $70,000 to $75,000, which is just one component of a competitive Total Rewards package. PENN Entertainment provides wellness programs to support the financial, physical, and mental well-being of its employees. Benefits include day-one medical coverage, 401(k) matching, annual performance bonuses, and paid time off that accrues based on local policies and tenure. The company emphasizes career growth and provides support for employees to expand their possibilities within the organization. The work schedule typically involves 50-55 hours per week, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. The role also requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess or be able to obtain the necessary gaming licenses, background clearances, and certifications for responsible alcohol service and food safety.
At PENN Entertainment, you are entering a workplace that is energetic and fast-paced, poised at the intersection of hospitality and entertainment. You will be directly involved in transforming how people experience fun, leisure, and gaming while working with an inclusive and motivated team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to lead in a unique and bustling environment where operational excellence and guest satisfaction are the priorities. Join PENN Entertainment to be part of changing entertainment and discover how your leadership can shape unforgettable guest experiences and your own career development.
