Job Description
Valor is a passionate and globally-minded hospitality company dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through thoughtful hospitality and sustainable dining practices. Our team of Hotelitarians-driven and detail-obsessed professionals goes beyond service standards to create meaningful connections with guests, team members, and property owners. We pride ourselves on bringing enthusiasm, creativity, and a distinct local flair to every property we support. Valor champions high standards, relationship-building, and the attentive care that leads to lasting impressions. Our portfolio includes a range of unique hotel properties, and we continuously seek individuals who share our vision of hospitality excellence and commitment to positive impact.
The Food and Beverage Manager role at Valor is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations within our hotels. This role encompasses managing human resources functions related to the food and beverage department including recruitment, training, scheduling, coaching, and employee evaluation to ensure a high-performing team. The manager will lead operational initiatives that drive productivity, ensure quality and customer-service standards, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvement strategies. Financial stewardship is also a critical aspect of this role, as the Food and Beverage Manager is accountable for forecasting budgets, analyzing expenditures, and taking corrective actions to meet financial goals.
This position requires ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements including those of the alcoholic beverage commission, and maximizing bar profitability through portion control and charge accuracy. Promoting the food and beverage offerings through targeted advertising campaigns and strategic partnerships is also part of the manager's responsibilities. Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment is paramount, with a focus on sanitation standards, equipment upkeep, and legal compliance, all while delivering superior guest service.
The Food and Beverage Manager will stay current in the field by engaging in ongoing education, professional networking, and industry organizations. Providing excellent guest service by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and enhancing sales opportunities is essential. Administrative duties include managing cash systems and preparing reports to support department oversight. Additionally, the manager may be required to perform Manager-on-Duty functions and shifts to ensure seamless operational leadership.
Valor offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting our commitment to our team members’ well-being and growth. We provide daily pay options, team member hotel discount programs, uniforms, and health-related benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Paid time off, a 401k retirement plan with employer matching, recognition programs, food and beverage discounts, and tuition reimbursement are also part of the diverse benefits designed to support career advancement and work-life balance.
If you bring a blend of hospitality expertise, leadership skills, and passion for creating memorable guest experiences, you will thrive in this dynamic role at Valor. We encourage individuals who are both innovative and collaborative, who embrace challenges with a positive attitude and a desire to grow professionally. This opportunity is ideal for those who appreciate working within a team-oriented environment that values diversity, creativity, and a commitment to excellence in the exciting city of Huntsville. Join Valor and make a lasting impact on both the guests we serve and the communities where we operate.
