Job Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Fire Protection Technology
- TCFP certifications as Fire Officer I through IV
- TCFP certifications as Fire Instructor I through III
- TCFP certified Incident Safety Officer
- TCFP Basic Structure Firefighter
- Three years of non-teaching firefighter work experience
- Ability to lift up to 85 pounds
- Ability to wear firefighter personal protective equipment and SCBA for extended periods
- Willingness to maintain domicile in the State of Texas
- Ability to perform duties in classroom and drill field settings
- Commitment to safety and reporting unsafe conditions
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and multiple campuses as needed
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information

Job Duties
- Prepare and teach courses in fire protection technology to a multicultural student population based on approved learning outcomes
- Participate in departmental responsibilities including curriculum review, program review, and assessment of student learning
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback
- Serve as a mentor to students in the Fire Protection Technology program
- Provide teaching and mentoring services without discrimination
- Stay current in the fire protection field through professional development and continuing education
- Support division and department goals through active engagement in decision-making and planning
- Serve on collegewide and departmental committees, councils, and task forces
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by department leadership
- Schedule and coordinate training with TCFP through their training database
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, online resources, and learning management systems
- Maintain regular office hours and participate in college functions and meetings
- Comply with college policies and maintain professional teaching standards
