As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for designing lesson plans, grading student work, providing timely and constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of attendance and academic performance. In addition, you will use the university's learning management system to post course materials, assessments, and grades, ensuring clear communication and accessibility for students. Another critical aspect of the role is to engage proactively with students who may need additional support or counseling, collaborating with faculty and academic staff to facilitate student success. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, culinary arts or a related field
  • Three or more years of relevant industry experience
  • Must live or relocate within commuting distance of Providence campus upon hire
  • College or university transcripts required prior to hire

  • College-level teaching experience preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Teaches assigned courses by delivering appropriate course content, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing timely feedback, addressing students’ questions and concerns
  • Prepares and maintains course site in the learning management system for dissemination of course materials, assessments, and weekly updating of the grade center
  • Maintains accurate records of student attendance, academic achievement and performance per university policies
  • Distributes university-approved syllabus via learning management system including course objectives, texts, attendance policy, materials required, and evaluation criteria
  • Communicates early with students, department chair, and academic counselor for students in danger of failure or needing counseling
  • Refers students to university resources for guidance, financial assistance, career, library, academic support, accessibility, counseling, and other services
  • Populates faculty information system with data to establish teaching credentials and maintains data
  • Attends faculty orientation and meetings as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned
