Job Description
Boeing is a leading global aerospace company renowned for its innovation and commitment to excellence. As a premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space and security systems, Boeing plays a vital role in advancing technology and making the world a better place. The company fosters a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment, offering great opportunities for professional growth and development. With a rich history of aerospace achievements, Boeing is dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and supporting its workforce throughout their careers.
The Boeing Company is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Factory Service Attendant (Custodian) to maintain clean and hygienic conditions at multiple locations including Auburn, Kent, Puyallup, Renton, Seattle, and Tukwila, Washington. This is an hourly position under the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement, with a pay range of $20.32 to $27.11 per hour based on experience and qualifications. The role offers a pathway for internal career advancement, as many Factory Services employees find opportunities to transfer into various new career fields within Boeing after gaining experience. The company also provides excellent benefits including medical coverage, schooling support, retirement plans, and additional training.
As a Factory Service Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining Boeing's facilities in a safe and healthy condition. This includes cleaning offices, cafeterias, fitness centers, restrooms, and transportation tunnels. You will handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to approved methods and perform blood-borne pathogen cleanup after training. The role requires the use of cleaning chemicals, maintaining supplies, performing routine custodial tasks like sweeping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, detailed cleaning of offices, conference rooms, stairways, and restrooms, and handling trash disposal. You will also operate cleaning machinery, including backpack-style vacuums and floor care equipment, and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Physically, this job requires the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds, push or pull up to 45 pounds of force, and perform repetitive movements such as reaching overhead, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and grasping objects throughout the workday. The position is 100% onsite, requiring reliable attendance at one of the specified Boeing facilities. Boeing emphasizes compliance with export control requirements and mandates that candidates be a U.S. Person as defined by federal regulation.
This is a safety-sensitive position in a drug-free workplace where employees are subject to testing. The 2nd shift schedule offers a stable work environment with the chance to develop valuable experience in a respected aerospace company. Relocation assistance is not provided, so applicants must live near the work locations or relocate at their own expense.
Joining Boeing as a Factory Service Attendant presents a rewarding opportunity to be part of a diverse team committed to excellence and innovation. With support for continuing education, career advancement, and a comprehensive benefits package, this role is an excellent entry point for those seeking long-term growth in the aerospace industry. Boeing's commitment to equity and inclusion ensures that employment decisions are made fairly and without discrimination. If you're ready to contribute to maintaining world-class facilities at one of the aerospace industry's top employers, this position offers a promising career pathway with strong potential for advancement.
