Job Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • At least five years of experience in the event planning industry
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving
  • Ability to coordinate and organize multiple and/or simultaneous venue rentals
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to work well with others while providing direction and feedback
  • Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English
  • Ability to function effectively without supervision
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Completion of mandated reporter training within 30 days of employment and recurrent training every five years
  • Completion of required PA Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI background clearances
  • Understanding and appreciation for the mission of The Salvation Army

Job Duties

  • Oversee venue rental booking process within approved guidelines and pricing structure
  • Proactively engage with both individuals and outside organizations to create awareness of various venue rental options available in The Salvation Army Kroc Center of Philadelphia
  • Execute all contracts for use of space within the Center
  • Ensures that all payment and cash management procedures are followed at all times
  • Maintain rental and event calendar
  • ensure that all events begin and end on time by maintaining event schedules
  • Assemble and distribute the Kroc Center's weekly "What’s Happening" report to staff
  • Develop operating budget for venue rentals while monitoring operations to ensure budgets are being maintained
  • Communicate with Facilities Manager for room rental setup and maintain a clean and organized venue rental environment
  • Communicate event needs with all Department Heads
  • Assist with coordination and execution of events
  • Communicate with Building Ministry Director and/or Facilities Manager to address setup and security needs prior to venue rentals/events
  • Ensure guest safety by reporting and rectifying any safety concerns
  • Meet and ensure all Salvation Army Policies and Procedures are followed
  • Ensure all safety, sanitation, energy management, and preventative maintenance plans are in continual use
  • Assist Sales and Marketing Manager in planning and approval of sales and marketing promotional activity for venue rentals and Kroc Center events
  • Communicate with Sales and Marketing Manager via daily interaction and weekly meetings
  • Solicit rental client feedback by remaining visible and accessible
  • Perform all other assignments as directed
