Job Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum five years of event planning experience
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English clearly
- Ability to work independently
- Valid Driver's License
- Completion of mandated reporter training within 30 days of employment
- Successful completion of PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
- Commitment to following Salvation Army Policies and Procedures
- Understanding of the organization's mission
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least five years of experience in the event planning industry
- Strong guest service skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple venue rentals simultaneously
- Professional attitude toward problem solving
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Ability to work well with others while providing direction and feedback
- Valid Driver's License
- Understanding and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army
Job Duties
- Oversee venue rental booking process within approved guidelines and pricing structure
- Proactively engage with individuals and outside organizations to promote venue rental options
- Execute all contracts for use of space within the Center
- Ensure all payment and cash management procedures are followed
- Maintain rental and event calendar and ensure events begin and end on time
- Assemble and distribute weekly "What’s Happening" report highlighting internal and external events
- Develop and monitor operating budget for venue rentals
- Communicate with Facilities Manager and Department Heads for event setup and resource coordination
- Assist with coordination and execution of events
- Ensure guest safety by reporting and resolving safety concerns
- Adhere to all Salvation Army Policies and Procedures
- Support Sales and Marketing Manager in promotional activities for rentals
- Solicit rental client feedback by staying visible and accessible
- Perform other assignments as directed
