Job Description

Real World Canine is a rapidly growing company dedicated to providing a top-tier environment where dogs can thrive. Rooted in the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, the company is committed to ensuring that every dog under its care is free from hunger, discomfort, pain, and fear, and has the opportunity to express natural behaviors. As a comprehensive provider of dog care services, Real World Canine offers day camp, boarding, training, enrichment, and therapy, all designed to improve dogs' confidence, health, and overall happiness. The company emphasizes a holistic approach to canine welfare that blends expert care with innovative enrichment techniques to meet the unique needs of every dog.

The Facility Manager role at Real World Canine is a critical position that involves full ownership of the company's physical facility. This hands-on role not only involves daily maintenance tasks but also the management and oversight of larger construction and improvement projects. The Facility Manager will be instrumental in maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment that aligns with the company’s high standards for animal welfare and facility operations. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in facility management, skilled trades, or construction, along with the ability to work independently on repairs as well as coordinate contractors for more complex or large-scale projects.

The scope of the Facility Manager's responsibilities includes a wide range of maintenance activities such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC system repairs, and building upkeep. The position also requires leadership in planning, supervising, and coordinating facility upgrades, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project completion, and maintaining the inventory of tools and maintenance supplies. A significant focus of the role is on overseeing upcoming expansion projects, including the construction of a new pool and an adjacent building. This involves coordinating with various contractors, monitoring project timelines and budgets, and ensuring that the new structures meet long-term operational needs.

Working hours for the Facility Manager are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Compensation starts at $45,000 per year, with additional profit-sharing bonuses based on performance, providing financial incentives aligned with the company’s success. Benefits include shared-cost health insurance, fully subsidized dental and vision insurance, a matching 401(k) plan, and opportunities for advancement and paid training. This in-person role offers a unique opportunity for a skilled facility professional to contribute meaningfully to an organization dedicated to canine welfare while advancing their career in a growth-focused environment.
