Job Description

U-Haul Holding Company, a prominent name since 1945, has been a trusted leader in the do-it-yourself moving industry across the United States and Canada. Founded by the visionary couple L.S. "Sam" Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen, U-Haul revolutionized moving by creating a nationwide one-way rental system for moving equipment. This innovative model made moving more accessible, affordable, and flexible for millions of individuals and families, enabling them to relocate with greater ease and independence. Over the decades, U-Haul has expanded its offerings to include storage solutions, truck rentals, and a variety of moving supplies, all dedicated to supporting the mobility and needs of its customers. The company fosters a culture of health, wellness, and inclusivity, emphasizing equal employment opportunities and accommodations tailored to individual needs. U-Haul also maintains health-conscious hiring practices, including restrictions on nicotine use in several states, reflecting its commitment to a safe and healthy workplace.

The Facility Housekeeper role at U-Haul is a vital part of upholding the company's reputation for exceptional customer service. This position involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderly condition of U-Haul’s facility, making it welcoming and safe for both employees and customers. Facility Housekeepers are responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down storage units, hallways, restrooms, and other public areas. They also handle the disposal of trash, manage cleaning supply inventory, and perform additional duties as assigned. Candidates in this role should be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. The job requires physical activity such as moving equipment up to 50 pounds and working safely around machinery and cleaning chemicals. U-Haul provides comprehensive training to ensure employees are well-prepared and supported in their duties.

U-Haul offers a competitive employment package that includes career stability, opportunities for advancement, and valuable on-the-job training. Employees gain access to various benefits, including life insurance, legal assistance through the MetLaw program, and insurance plans for auto and home through MetLife. Other perks include discounts on Apple products, Dell computers, cell phone plans, and hotels. Eligible employees enjoy paid holidays, vacation, and sick days, plus participation in 401k and stock option plans. Health benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans are available, alongside wellness support through a 24-hour physician service for children, subsidized gym memberships, business and travel insurance, and identity theft protection via LifeLock. The company is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive workplace where employees can grow, feel valued, and contribute to U-Haul’s longstanding legacy of customer service excellence.
