Job Requirements

  • ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Indiana Public Passengers Chauffeurs License
  • NYSCA Clinician Certification
  • high school diploma or GED preferred

  • ability to work varied work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • general knowledge of sports, recreational games and arts and crafts

  • ability to maintain discipline and supervise participants of all ages
  • ability to follow all established policies and procedures
  • must be people and community oriented and have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • ability to obtain officials certification for recreation sports and crafts

Job Duties

  • assist in development, planning, directing, implementation and coordinating a wide variety of recreational events
  • follow established policies and procedures
  • complete reports, inspections, and evaluations based on established guidelines
  • use software and variety of technology platforms to organize, document, track, and monitor work including ActiveNet, Microsoft Office Suite, InforPS, Peoplesoft, and WebEx
  • deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers and establish a professional rapport with all park users
  • initiate new sports, aquatics, and recreation programs
  • support and assist customers while participating in sports, recreational, arts, fitness, and aquatic programs
  • schedule classes and assist in planning
  • supervise and coordinate recreational programs
  • collect, deposit, and secure park funds
  • attend meetings or training sessions
  • supervise use of supplies, equipment, and facilities
  • set up and break down for regular scheduled activities and events
  • enforce rules and regulations
  • assist with field and sports equipment maintenance including sports playing fields, ice rinks, skate sharpening, operating a Zamboni and cricket cages
  • maintain cleanliness and general appearance of work site
  • maintain the facility and park grounds in an attractive manner
  • open and close facility following proper security measures
  • maintain confidentiality
