Job Duties

  • Clean all areas inside and outside the school as directed
  • perform scheduled work according to custodial standards
  • wash and sanitize sinks, toilets, showers, and plumbing fixtures
  • replenish supplies of soap, towels, etc.
  • empty heavy containers of trash and debris
  • mow lawn and trim hedges, shrubs, and trees using appropriate equipment
  • replace light bulbs and fluorescent lights, clean fixtures, wash windows, trim trees
  • operate heavy equipment to sweep, mop, brush, vacuum, strip and wax floors
  • dust, wipe, wash, and wax furniture and perform minor repairs
  • pick up and dispose of debris from yards, walkways, parking lots
  • plant flowers, bushes, trees as directed
  • maintain equipment by sharpening blades, lubricating parts, cleaning and storing safely
  • inform supervisor of needed supplies and maintenance issues
  • practice continuous safety and ensure safe working area
  • complete all projects competently with proper recording of time and materials
  • comply with equal employment and non-discrimination policies
  • participate in training programs to enhance skills
  • review current developments and technical information related to job
  • ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures
  • follow federal and state laws and School Board policies
