The role of Director of Engineering at Great Wolf is a senior management position responsible for setting the vision and overseeing the effective functioning of the entire hotel, resort, or property. This includes management of the physical buildings, grounds, and all associated mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. The Director of Engineering manages budgets, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation initiatives. This position requires strategic leadership to develop organizational and operational strategies that align with overall company goals while ensuring efficient and safe engineering operations across the property. The Director also conducts engineering project management, including feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and coordination with consultants and stakeholders. Additionally, this role is responsible for establishing best practices in policies, procedures, and workflows to maintain high standards and regulatory compliance.

The Director of Engineering oversees multiple technical teams, ensuring uninterrupted operations and that organizational goals related to production, quality, productivity, and customer service are met. This role requires up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and codes, participation in professional development and networking, and strong supervisory capabilities including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. The position offers an annual salary range of $140,000 to $165,000, reflecting factors such as education, experience, certifications, and geographic location, among others.
