Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent
- Three or more years of experience in facility management or closely related field
- CPR First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire
- POOL certifications required within 120 days of employment
- Ability and current license to drive with record meeting YMCA standards
- Working knowledge of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems carpentry and other maintenance-related areas
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations with composure and professionalism
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and computer navigation
Job Qualifications

- YMCA Team Leader certification preferred
- Three or more years of experience in facility management or a closely related field
- CPR First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire
- Working knowledge of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems carpentry and other maintenance areas
- Skills in supervision budget management and project management
- POOL certifications required within 120 days of employment
- Ability and current license to drive with record meeting YMCA standards
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and computer navigation
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations with composure and professionalism
Job Duties
- Provides overall coordination of facility and property maintenance including planning and developing preventative maintenance schedules and coordinating contracted custodial services
- Recruits hires trains develops schedules and directs assigned staff and volunteers
- Reviews and evaluates performance and develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
- Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner
- Oversees all contractors working in the facility and grounds and may request and review bids and recommend selection of contractors
- Assumes primary responsibility for pool operations ensuring compliance with Code of Massachusetts Regulations and maintains Certified Pool Operator certification
- Maintains active relationships with fire health and building officials to uphold standards and compliance
- Ensures highest safety standards are followed according to OSHA and other guidelines
- Manages department budgets and forecasts to support maintenance plans and monitor expenditures
- Ensures proper maintenance and operation of vehicles and equipment according to YMCA and regulatory standards
- Oversees upkeep and cleanliness of facility grounds including lawn care snow removal and ice control
- Maintains housekeeping inventories and replacement parts
- Updates facility plans and develops annual capital project plans
- Responds promptly to members visitors and staff requests and concerns to reinforce culture
- Provides 24/7 availability for emergency response or ensures alternate coverage
- Performs direct maintenance repair and janitorial support as needed
- Works night and weekend hours as required
- Collaborates on maintenance projects with other branches
- Supports charitable giving campaigns and special events
- Supports Diversity and Inclusion Global Network
- Participates in staff and association meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned
