Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • ability to travel off site for business reasons
  • certification of automobile insurance for personal vehicles used in District activities
  • willingness to undergo a DMV driving record check for the past three years if selected as a finalist
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • capability to carry, push, pull, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to work Tuesday through Saturday with specified hours
  • ability to work both indoor and outdoor environments
  • completion of required after-hire training including asbestos awareness, hazard communication, industrial truck/forklift certification, lead awareness, lockout/tagout, and utility cart certification

  • Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed
  • commitment to diversity and demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds
  • ability to perform routine maintenance and repair work
  • ability to operate a variety of equipment, machines, and vehicles including forklift, electric cart, truck, drill, and various hand tools
  • ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • previous experience in a similar field is desirable
  • demonstrated experience addressing equity, diversity, and inclusion in work or educational environments is preferable

Job Duties

  • Receive and deliver District and U.S. mail, equipment and supplies as directed
  • provide assistance to facilities maintenance and custodial personnel as required
  • prepare classrooms and facilities for special events or activities, including moving furniture and setting up tables, chairs, and equipment
  • load and unload warehouse trucks and deliver goods to appropriate departments
  • perform minor repairs to buildings and equipment
  • dispose of obsolete or surplus equipment as directed
  • assemble and install furniture and equipment
  • perform routine maintenance duties such as picking up paper and debris
  • secure facilities at the completion of assigned schedules by turning lights on and off, locking and unlocking doors and windows
  • report sanitary and safety hazards and notify proper authorities
  • maintain routine records and forms such as service and supply requests and time sheets
  • learn and apply emerging technologies to perform duties efficiently
  • participate in District and College diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and trainings
  • perform related duties as assigned
