Job Description

Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake is part of the renowned Extended Stay America brand, known for providing comfortable and affordable extended lodging solutions across the United States. Located in Dekalb, Georgia, about 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta, this property benefits from proximity to key transportation routes like I-285 and popular shopping destinations such as Northlake Mall. The hotel is tailored for travelers seeking short stays, long-term accommodations, or temporary housing, making it a versatile choice for diverse guest needs. As a new addition to the Extended Stay America family, this property is committed to delivering exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home for every guest.

Join our team as an Assistant General Manager and play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of hospitality that Extended Stay America is known for. This role is designed for an energetic, proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced hotel environment and has a passion for fostering guest satisfaction and operational excellence. As the assistant general manager, you will act as the right hand to the General Manager, stepping up to lead the hotel in their absence while collaborating across multiple departments to boost efficiency and profitability. This is a dynamic position that requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving, team development, and day-to-day management.

You will be instrumental in overseeing various hotel departments, ensuring seamless coordination and communication among teams to enhance the guest experience. A key part of your responsibility will be recruiting, hiring, and training guest services staff, supporting their continuous development through training programs that motivate and empower them to excel. Your ability to communicate effectively, listen actively to both staff and guests, and maintain open channels of communication will be crucial to fostering a positive working environment and high guest satisfaction levels.

Financial acumen is another important element of this role. You will be expected to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and implement strategies that optimize revenue while controlling costs. Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems and related technology tools will support your reporting and managerial duties, ensuring that hotel operations run smoothly and reports are accurate and insightful.

This position is classified as an overtime eligible manager (OEM), so overtime hours may be required and will be compensated accordingly. Beyond the operational responsibilities, you will set the standard for professionalism in the hotel, ensuring that appearance and grooming standards meet company policies to reflect the brand’s commitment to excellence.

The Assistant General Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to advance your hospitality career in a supportive, rewarding environment. Employees who join as full-time team members after an initial waiting period become eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, disability insurance, life insurance, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. To enhance financial flexibility, Extended Stay America now offers daily pay options—check with your recruiter for details.

If you are a confident leader with a passion for hospitality, skilled in managing diverse teams, and eager to create memorable experiences for guests, this role is tailored for you. Embrace the challenge and join Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Northlake to make every guest’s stay exceptional and contribute to a thriving hotel community.
