Job Description

Truluck's is a renowned restaurant established in 1992, celebrated for its commitment to culinary excellence, sustainable seafood, southern hospitality, strong company culture, and philanthropy. Since its inception, Truluck's has been dedicated to creating exhilarating moments and enduring memories for its guests by delivering high-quality dining experiences that reflect these core values. The establishment prides itself on its dedication to sustainable seafood practices, ensuring that every ingredient served honors the plate, the palate, and the planet. With a strong emphasis on responsible sourcing, Truluck's follows Ocean Conservancy guidelines and refrains from serving endangered or overfished species. The restaurant's Florida Stone Crab, for example, is harvested by professional crabbers on their team, and produce is sourced locally whenever possible to maintain freshness and support local growers.

Truluck's is currently seeking Professional Food Expeditor / Food Runner candidates who share a passion for hospitality and are committed to upholding the company’s high standards. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring every dish that reaches the table embodies the core values of the establishment—culinary excellence, sustainability, hospitality, and overall guest satisfaction. Food expeditors and runners at Truluck's serve as the vital bridge between the kitchen and the dining area, coordinating the timely and accurate delivery of dishes while maintaining impeccable standards for food presentation and quality.

Ideal candidates for this position must have at least two years of previous hospitality experience, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Clear and accurate communication skills are essential, with proficiency in English or Spanish preferred. Candidates must be well-versed in the restaurant’s culinary offerings and able to communicate detailed product knowledge to guests. Physical stamina is a must, as the role requires standing for up to nine hours per shift and the ability to lift items weighing at least 50 pounds. Team members must also comply with uniform guidelines, including proper footwear, to maintain safety and appearance standards.

At Truluck's, employees benefit from a supportive work environment with a commitment to work-life balance through flexible scheduling. The company offers competitive hourly wages plus tips, providing the opportunity to earn between $30 and $40 per hour. Employee benefits include a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, health insurance, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, and employee discounts. The company's philanthropic values extend internally through a culture of respect, collaboration, and continuous training to ensure all team members remain experts in their roles and contribute positively to the community and environment.

By joining Truluck's as a Professional Food Expeditor or Food Runner, individuals become an integral part of a dynamic hospitality team dedicated to making good things happen for others. This position offers an exciting opportunity for those passionate about food, sustainability, and exceptional service to grow their careers within a respected and values-driven company known for its innovative culinary approach and heartfelt commitment to guests and the planet.
