Job Duties

  • Receive and organize incoming food orders from the kitchen
  • Verify that each dish meets the established quality standards before it leaves the kitchen
  • Effectively communicate with kitchen staff, chefs, and front-of-house team to convey order details, special requests, and timing requirements
  • Inspect each dish to ensure it meets the restaurant's presentation and quality standards
  • Check that all components of a dish are included and align with customer specifications
  • Coordinate the timing of dishes to be served simultaneously
  • Prioritize orders based on dining room traffic and special requests
  • Ensure prompt delivery of orders to the correct tables
  • Work closely with servers to manage service pace and avoid bottlenecks
  • Address and resolve order discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace
  • Stay informed about menu details
  • Assist servers with dish-related questions
  • Foster collaboration between kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Follow restaurant policies including health and safety regulations
