Job Description

This position as a Meat Department Manager is to direct the operation of the Meat Department, including supervising and training personnel to ensure customer service and product quality, freshness, safety, and selection. The role involves handling customer relations positively and resolving complaints effectively. The job focuses on championing Company and Division customer service programs, achieving sales and profit objectives, and maintaining department budgetary objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Previous meat department manager experience in a meat department setting. High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong knowledge of all job duties within the Meat Department, including cutting, wrapping, steaming, grinding, cubing, tenderizing, and customer service. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage people and maintain composure in customer and co-worker interactions. Knowledge of employment laws, workplace practices, and company policies. Understanding of meat product variety, standards, perishability, food safety, sanitation, labeling, and department procedures. Physical ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 80 lbs, operate meat cutting equipment, and work in cold environments. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
