Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in customer service or veterinary reception preferred
  • Strong understanding of veterinary terminology
  • Proficient computer skills including practice management software
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism
  • Must be a team player
  • Availability to work Saturdays and evening hours
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking abilities

Job Duties

  • Client communication including client education
  • Maintain compassionate, patient-focused attitude
  • Professional, mature and ethical representation of Bayside Veterinary Care
  • Clear and effective communication in person, in writing and over the phone
  • Maintenance of accurate client contact information
  • Accurate message taking and timely reporting
  • Awareness of practice protocols for appropriate schedule of patient care
  • Appointment confirmation
  • Accurate invoicing and payment collection
  • Understanding of software and technology used in job performance
  • Additional administrative duties as requested
  • Remain detail-oriented while performing multiple unrelated tasks
  • End of day procedures
  • Maintain welcoming and clean examination rooms
  • Communicate patient needs and comfort level to doctor
  • Communicate client concerns to doctor
  • Communicate medical instructions to client
  • Accurate labeling and recording of dispensed medications
  • Ensure cleanliness of patients
  • Provide appropriate and safe elimination opportunities for all patients
  • Accurate medical record keeping and maintenance
  • Ensure all samples, lab results or records are given to doctor as needed
  • Maintain and stock retail area
  • Client and pet traffic control
  • Maintain cleanliness
  • Participate in quarterly continuing education
