BENTO is a well-established pan-Asian restaurant located at 2260 S. University Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Since its inception in 2002, BENTO has become widely recognized for serving creative and delicious dishes that celebrate Asian culinary traditions with a modern twist. Specializing in fresh sushi rolls, flavorful bowls, Bento boxes, and refreshing boba teas, BENTO provides a fast and friendly dining experience to its customers. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Manager to join the BENTO team. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay ranging from $18 to $20 per hour plus tips. The Sushi Manager will play a critical leadership role in managing the sushi department and ensuring the delivery of outstanding food and service that meets BENTO’s quality standards. Candidates should have at least two years of experience as a head sushi chef and will undergo a skills assessment during the interview process.
The ideal Sushi Manager will be responsible for preparing sushi menu items efficiently and accurately, strictly adhering to established food safety and sanitation standards. They will uphold superior guest service standards and strive to ensure complete customer satisfaction. This position involves managing department costs, ordering inventory, scheduling labor to maximize efficiency while minimizing expenses, and maintaining a positive and professional work environment. The Sushi Manager will also assist with the hiring, training, and development of sushi department staff, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and growth. Additionally, the role requires strong communication and leadership skills, the ability to remain composed during stressful situations, and critical thinking capabilities to handle unforeseen challenges.

Job Requirements
- 2 plus years as a head sushi chef
- Computer proficiency: able to correspond effectively via email and text, and perform data input
- Commitment to continuous learning and growth
- Able to remain calm and communicate effectively during stressful situations
- Able to hear, see and speak
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Able to withstand a 12 plus hour workday
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
