The position involves the accurate and efficient preparation of hot food products, including portioning, cooking, plating, garnishing, and ensuring that each dish meets Ruby Slipper’s quality standards. Candidates joining the Ruby Krewe, as team members are affectionately called, will bring a positive attitude and a firm belief that butter and bacon make everything better. They are expected to strictly follow established recipes and portion sizes, comply with cooking methods and kitchen policies, and keep their work area clean and sanitary. Communication skills are essential, as coordination with managers, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team members is vital to smooth operations.
The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods (up to ten hours), frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks such as reaching, bending, and stooping. Experience is valued, with a minimum of one year in kitchen preparation and cooking preferred.
