Job Description

Wildwood Racquet & Wellness Club is a premier racquet sports facility located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Known for its exceptional services catering to tennis and pickleball enthusiasts, the club provides a vibrant and welcoming environment for sports lovers of all levels. At Wildwood Racquet & Wellness Club, members experience not only top-tier athletic facilities but also a strong community atmosphere fostered through leagues, tournaments, and social events. The club is recognized as a cornerstone in the Fort Wayne sports landscape, attracting a broad membership base due to its high-quality amenities and exceptional customer service.

Currently, the club is expanding its food and beverage offerings with the launch of Courtside, a new bar and restaurant that overlooks the bustling tennis and pickleball courts. This strategic addition is designed to enhance the overall member experience by providing a relaxed yet lively venue for socializing and dining. The food and beverage program is in its exciting early stages, meaning there is tremendous opportunity for growth and development within this area. Supported by league nights, ongoing tournaments, and an expanding membership base, volume at Courtside is steadily increasing.

What makes this opportunity especially unique is the club's multimillion-dollar expansion project, currently underway. The expansion will double the size of the kitchen, add a scenic outdoor deck to Courtside, and create new private event spaces, significantly increasing the venue’s capacity and service potential. This growth promises to establish Wildwood Racquet & Wellness Club as a leader not only in sports but also in dining and event hosting within the region.

The available role is for a part-time line cook who will work evening shifts initially, with plans to expand into morning hours as operations grow. As a key member of the opening food and beverage team, the line cook will collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage Director, who actively works on the line alongside staff. The menu is focused and thoughtfully curated, featuring 5-7 core items plus daily specials, allowing kitchen staff to concentrate on quality and consistency. This is a hands-on position requiring independence, the ability to manage busy rush periods, and a commitment to high standards in cooking and presentation.

Candidates will thrive in an environment that values initiative, teamwork, and growth potential. The role is not static; it offers substantial opportunities for advancement as the club expands its kitchen capabilities and event offerings. Those who join now will be in prime positions to lead, train new team members, and potentially secure full-time roles with increased responsibilities.

Compensation for this position ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience, with flexible scheduling tailored to league nights and seasonal demands. The club prides itself on quick hiring decisions and encourages prospective candidates to apply promptly for an April training start. For those interested in a dynamic, high-volume kitchen environment with room to grow professionally, this role at Wildwood Racquet & Wellness Club represents an exciting career opportunity.
