The Culinary team plays a crucial role at The Grove at Trelago. The full-time culinary position involves preparing food that meets or exceeds the community’s high standards for taste, hospitality, and service. This role allows the culinary member to showcase their creativity by ensuring dishes are not only delicious but also attractively presented, enhancing residents’ daily dining experiences. This full-time position follows a 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. schedule, with rotating weekends off, offering balance for team members. The culinary professional will work closely with kitchen staff to prepare meals using standardized recipes, monitor food quality, and maintain safety and hygiene standards. Responsibility for food storage oversight, documentation of temperature logs, and adherence to local, state, and federal food handling regulations is also essential. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cooking, has a keen eye for detail, and is committed to maintaining an environment of cleanliness and safety. Overall, the culinary team member will contribute significantly to the community’s hospitality and satisfaction by delivering high-quality, well-prepared food consistently.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
  • Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred
  • Food Services Sanitation Certificate

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items using standardized recipes in a timely manner
  • Determines food and supplies needed and coordinates meal production with serving hours
  • Monitors all food items to see that at least the minimum guidelines for temperature, taste, and quality are upheld at all times
  • Ensures the proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes
  • Ensures dishes are presented in a creative and attractive way
  • Tastes and prepares food to determine quality
  • Maintains or exceeds standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
  • Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures
  • Oversees food storage
  • checks labels and dates
  • Completes cleaning duties
  • Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling
  • Assists with proper documentation of temperature logs and cleaning schedules
  • Maintains food safety equipment records and food safety temperature records
  • Other duties as assigned
