This role is focused on the meat department, where the successful candidate will engage in a variety of important tasks including receiving, rotating, cutting, wrapping, and merchandising fresh and processed meats, poultry, and seafood. The employee will assist in merchandising other food categories such as prepared foods, cheeses, and deli products, and will provide excellent service by helping members select specialty cuts and preparing special meat arrangements. Maintaining top-tier sanitation and safety standards is critical in this position, as is upholding all club policies and procedures. Team members will work closely with their colleagues to ensure the meat department is clean, organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing according to GOLD club standards. Employees must be proactive, maintain a friendly attitude, and uphold the company's values of honesty, integrity, inclusion, diversity, and teamwork. Speed, agility, and innovation are essential to keeping pace with the dynamic retail environment. This role also involves inspecting deliveries for quality control, using wrapping machines, adhering to expiration date guidelines, and contributing to overall store and operational goals. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • completion of training program or apprenticeship
  • previous meat cutting experience
  • ability to operate wrapping machines preferred
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently
  • ability to work in cooler environments with exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises
  • regular, predictable, full attendance

  • knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred
  • at least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats, including grinds
  • assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre-packed deli
  • assist in the rotisserie chicken area and full service deli
  • cut special meat arrangements for members
  • maintain all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department
  • carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned
  • support the application of club policies, procedures and compliance
  • engage and provide assistance to members by making recommendations along with answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood
  • prepare special cuts of meat ordered by members
  • weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards
  • ensure the meat case showcases all currently available products
  • ensure the meat department maintains an appropriate level of inventory
  • stock and rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates
  • dispose of damaged and/or expired products following established guidelines
  • clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department including meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated cases
  • inspect and store meat upon delivery ensuring all received meats meet or exceed company quality standards
  • receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer
  • maintain all club policies and procedures
  • perform other duties as assigned including placing orders and working in other departments as needed
  • ensure regular, predictable, full attendance
